Retired General Abe Purugganan binanatan si Drilon dahil sa pag reject kay Bautista bilang DSWD chief

Retired General Abe Purugganan has recently taken to Facebook to give a response to a statement made by Senator Franklin Drilon who said that the decision of President Rodrigo Duterte to appoint Army Chief Lt. Gen. Rolanda Bautista as the secretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is a move to militarize the social welfare department.


Purugganan questions this defense from Drilon, saying that when military officers retire, they become civilians anyway so it should not be an issue.

He adds that Bautista’s background only contributes government service. Saying that he has a lot of “wisdom and management skills, as well as a deeper understanding of our problems”.

Purugganan also took offense, saying that Drilon must not discriminate against the military. He claims that the rejection of Drilon means that he does not respect the military.


He even goes on to accuse the former secretary of being a communist, saying that the Liberal Party agreed to this, they must agree with a military in the position anyway.

He adds that the appointment of the DSWD secretary within the discretion of the president anyway. And that if Drilon wants someone else to become DSWD secretary, he should become president first.


Ending his post, Purugganan questions why Drilon is against this appointment, and even said that there may be something about the social welfare department that drew this much attention to it.

Pumayag nga kayo na komunista ang umupo sa DSWD na mga kalaban pa ng gobyerno. Nagreklamo ba ang defense community? Eh, kung sabihin ng mga militar na bawal ang mga taga Liberal Party sa gobyerno dahil alam nila na ang LP ay korap at salot sa bansa. Payag ka?

Baka nakakalimutan mo na buhay ang tinaya ng mga militar para sa bansa at mas alam nila ang problema ng ating bansa at mamayan. Ikaw? Ano nagawa mo sa bansa? Hindi ba, nakaupo ka lang sa Senado at sabi nila palagi ka pang tulog sa session?


Isa pa, discretion ng Presidente yan kung gusto niyang retired military. Mag Presidente ka muna para masunod mo yong gusto mo na mailagay sa DSWD. Puro kayo batikos at reklamo.

Teka nga muna. Matagal na hinawakan ng liberal at kaliwa ang DSWD. Ano ba ang meron sa ahensiyang ito na ayaw niyong mapasukan ng military retired officer? “
